Proposed Solar Development

The locations of the proposed solar array, and all other proposed infrastructure will be informed by rigorous site investigations and assessments carried out over the last two years.

This includes:

  • Ecological surveys

  • Ornithological surveys

  • Hydrological and geological site investigations

  • Flood modelling

  • Archaeological surveys

  • Glint and Glare surveys and modelling

  • Noise modelling

  • Landscape and visual assessment

Planning and Environmental Report (PER)

The planning application for the proposed development will be accompanied by a PER. The PER is a detailed environmental report, which forms part of the planning application, and assesses the potential effects of the solar farm under headings such as:

  • Population & Human Health

  • Biodiversity

  • Soils & Geology

  • Water

  • Noise & Vibration

  • Air Quality & Climate

  • Landscape & Visual

  • Traffic & Transportation

  • Culture & Heritage

A planning application is expected to be lodged with Cork County Council in December 2026
